The Fine Print

Plan Terms & Disclaimers

Everything you should know before joining — in plain English.

Term & Termination. All plans are monthly recurring subscriptions billed to a credit card on file with a 12-month term. Customers who cancel prior to the full 12-month term will be charged for remaining months due or be invoiced for discounts received during the membership period. Customer is responsible to maintain an active credit card on file. After 12 months, the subscription automatically renews as a month-to-month plan until the member cancels.

Active Card on File. For credit cards on file that decline causing payment to be disrupted, membership status will be paused or inactive until resolved. If billing issues are not resolved within 30 days of notice, membership is considered cancelled and remaining balance due will be charged or invoiced.

Renewal Pricing. After the initial 12-month term, Steward may adjust the monthly subscription price for renewing members with thirty (30) days' written notice. Members may cancel at renewal if they decline the new pricing.

Pre-Existing Conditions. Member discounts, repair credits, and warranty coverage do not apply to garage door conditions that existed prior to membership activation. Steward reserves the right to document the door's condition at the first member visit; pre-existing wear, damage, or improper installation is excluded from all benefits.

Loyalty Credit details. $100 first month + $10/month accrual, capped at $1,000. Redeemable on a new garage door or opener install, valid up to 15% of the invoice. Not applicable to repairs or service calls. Cannot be combined with other offers or discounts.

Loyalty Credit is non-cash and non-transferable. Loyalty Credit has no cash value, cannot be redeemed for cash or check, and cannot be transferred, gifted, or sold to another customer, property, or household. Credit is forfeited if membership terminates for any reason.

Member discounts. 10% repair discount and $0 trip charge cannot be combined with seasonal coupons or other promotional offers. Discounts apply to scheduled member visits.

One Membership Per Property. Membership covers a single residential property at the address provided at signup. Benefits cannot be combined across multiple memberships, properties, or households.

$25 repair credit. A one-time $25 credit applied at the member's first eligible repair toward springs, drums, rollers, or cables. Not renewed annually; does not roll over once used.

50% off emergency fees. Member visits during nights, weekends, and recognized holidays receive 50% off the standard after-hours emergency surcharge. Cannot be combined with other promotional offers.

Free surge protector. One opener-grade surge protector installed at the first member service visit. Standard installation included; specialty wiring or panel work is extra. Available while supplies last.

Lifetime Labor Warranty. Labor on every part we install carries a lifetime warranty while you remain a member. Parts are covered by the manufacturer warranty (typically 1–7 years depending on the part). Coverage requires continuous active membership; lapses if membership is cancelled. Exclusions: modifications or repairs performed by anyone other than Steward; normal wear items (weather seal, paint, decorative hardware); damage from vehicle impact, severe weather, neglect, or misuse; and damage from third-party tampering.

Annual tune-up. Includes one yearly multi-point inspection during regular business hours. Members can purchase additional tune-ups at 50% off the standard rate.

Service area. Membership is available only within Steward's DFW service area. We'll let you know during signup if your address is outside our zone.

Plan changes. Steward may modify benefit details with 30 days' written notice. Existing members will be grandfathered into the plan terms in effect at the time they joined.

Force Majeure. Steward is not responsible for service delays or failures caused by events outside its reasonable control, including severe weather, supply chain disruptions, public health emergencies, labor shortages, utility failures, or acts of government.

Communications Consent. By enrolling, member consents to receive service-related emails, text messages, and phone calls from Steward at the contact details provided, including reminders, billing notices, and occasional promotional offers. Member may opt out of promotional messages at any time without affecting service communications. Standard message and data rates may apply.

Photo & Marketing Consent. Steward may photograph completed work on the member's property for internal records and marketing purposes. Photos will not include identifying address, license plates, or persons without explicit written approval from the member. Member may opt out by notifying Steward in writing prior to the first visit.

Suspension for Fraud or Abuse. Steward reserves the right to suspend or terminate any membership where the member engages in fraud, repeated misuse of benefits, abusive conduct toward technicians or staff, or breach of these terms. No refund is owed in cases of termination for cause.

Refunds. Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. Loyalty Credit, repair credits, and other accrued benefits have no cash redemption value.

Arbitration & Governing Law. Any dispute arising from this agreement will be resolved by binding individual arbitration in Tarrant County, Texas, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. Member waives the right to a jury trial and to participate in any class action. This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Texas.

Entire Agreement. This agreement and any documents referenced within it represent the entire understanding between Steward and the member regarding the Care Plan and supersede all prior verbal or written agreements.

Severability. If any provision of this agreement is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.

FAQ

VIP Membership Questions

How much does the Steward Care Plan cost?
$9.99 per month or $120 per year. Both options cost the same overall — annual is just one payment instead of twelve. Both come with a 12-month minimum term. After the first year your plan continues month-to-month and you can cancel anytime.
How does Steward Loyalty Credit work?
You start with $100 in Loyalty Credit the moment we activate your plan, and $10 accrues every month after (capped at $1,000). It's redeemable on a new garage door or opener install, valid up to 15% of the invoice. The credit applied is whichever is lower — your banked balance or 15% of the invoice. (Example: a 4-year member with $570 banked who installs a $3,500 opener gets $525 off; the 15% cap binds first.) Not applicable to repairs or service calls. Stays on your account as long as your membership is active.
What does the annual tune-up include?
A full multi-point service: we lubricate the rollers, hinges, and springs; test and adjust the door's balance; tighten the hardware; inspect the cables and track; and test the safety sensors and auto-reverse. It's the routine maintenance that keeps a door running smoothly for years.
Can I cancel anytime?
After your initial 12-month term, yes — the plan continues month-to-month and you can cancel anytime with 30 days' notice. During the first 12 months, early cancellation is charged for the remaining months OR invoiced for the value of any discounts and credits received, whichever is less.
Does the membership actually pay for itself?
For most homeowners, yes — the typical Year-1 benefit value comes out to roughly $562 (free tune-up, waived trip fee, 10% repair discount, 50% off one emergency call, $25 repair credit, free surge protector, and Loyalty Credit earned), versus your $120 annual cost. The waived trip fee alone covers most of the membership the first time you need a repair.
What does the Lifetime Labor Warranty cover?
Every part we install for you as a member — opener boards, springs, cables, rollers, panels — carries our labor warranty for life while you remain a member. If a part fails and needs reinstallation, the labor is on us. Parts themselves are covered by the manufacturer warranty (typically 1–7 years depending on the part). Damage from impact, severe weather, or third-party tampering is excluded.
How does the $25 repair credit work?
You get a one-time $25 credit applied to your first eligible repair — springs, drums, rollers, or cables. Applied automatically when one of those parts is on the work order. One-time benefit; does not renew annually.
What does the 50% emergency fee discount cover?
Members pay 50% off the standard after-hours emergency surcharge on nights, weekends, and holidays. Combined with $0 trip fee and the 10% repair discount, a member's emergency call typically costs significantly less than what a non-member pays.
What is the free surge protector?
On your first member service visit, we install a dedicated opener-grade surge protector on your garage door opener circuit. It guards the opener's control board against power spikes from storms and brownouts — the #1 cause of opener failures. Standard installation included; specialty wiring or panel work is extra.
How do I use my member benefits?
Just mention you're a Care Plan member when you call or book. Priority scheduling, the waived trip charge, and your repair discount are applied automatically.

FAQ

Common Questions

How much does garage door repair cost?
It depends on the problem and the parts involved — a roller replacement is very different from a spring or panel job. That's why we inspect the door first and give you an honest, transparent estimate before any work begins. We never start until you approve the price.
Do you offer same-day service?
Yes. We offer same-day availability across DFW for most repairs, and our technicians carry the most common parts on the truck so many jobs are finished in a single visit.
Is it safe to fix a broken spring myself?
No. Garage door springs are under extreme tension and are the most dangerous part of the door. Spring and cable work should always be done by a trained technician with the right tools.
How long does a garage door spring last?
Most springs are rated for around 10,000 open-close cycles — roughly 7 to 12 years depending on how often you use the door. If one spring breaks, we usually recommend replacing both.
